Can you help? There have been multiple strange occurrences at the gallery recently, leading up to the missing artefacts. But not all is as it seems. ‘The Caretaker’ has disappeared too, with strange messages left in his stead. It’s almost as though he’s done this on purpose – but we know very little more. We can supply the message from the caretaker, but have nothing else to go on. Could you and your crack team come and help, and SOON!?

Escaped – 61 Minutes
We will just come out and say it – this is probably one of the most immersive rooms we have completed in the UK. Often with UK escape rooms you feel somewhat immersed but you cant quite overlook the fact you are in an ex-office building, this place bucks that trend. Whilst it’s not a hollywood level set, the guys at Rushden have achieved a dynamic and immersive room which left us really impressed. We wont give anything away but this room will quite literally take you on a journey through five very different locations.
Puzzles & Challenges
When we walked into this room we were totally stumped, it didn’t have any of the normal padlocks and keys dotted around which was a welcome surprise. To be presented with something new in a room always keeps things interesting. The first puzzle will see you rely on your observational skills and some logic but it might take you a while to figure out exactly what you need to do. Once you solve this, what follows is a mixture of linear and non linear puzzles which at times reminded us of the Crystal Maze with a spin. There are logic puzzles, common sense puzzles and plenty of opportunities to overthink. The puzzles within this particular game are divided into five quite distinct sections and each one has a very unique feel when compared to the other.
We made a fairly impromptu decision to take part in this room one evening, and so we were unable to book online. Want to Escape, like many other room operators, allows you to call up on the day to see if there are any last minute slots. In doing so we were able to have a chat with the chap who creates these rooms and it was clear he was very passionate about what he does. What’s more is he enjoys playing escape rooms also and so we compared notes. When we arrived at the room itself, our games master was an equally passionate lady. We enjoyed being able to discuss other rooms here rather than being ushered straight into the game itself. When you finish this room, you’ll understand that the poor games master is probably running around more than the players and you have to give them credit for that. Any clues we requested were handed over without solving the challenge for us which meant we were still able to finish every puzzle ourself. The only critique would be the scenario was very obviously read from a script in front of her!
Value for Money
At £20 per person, and for a 75 minute room, there isn’t much debate that this room is great value for money. We’ve payed a lot more for shorter and less immersive rooms. Only thing standing against this room is probably the location, you’ll have to drive here or take a cab, but assuming thats not an issue for you, it is very much worth the money.
Great immersion, great challenges and strong value for money. No question we loved this room. We enjoyed the variety of challenges and the feel of the room. We have to mark this one highly. It’s obvious the guys here love what they do and it makes the whole experience enjoyable.
